Hi! I gave my daughter an iPod Mini over the summer and because none of my older Macs could support it, we initialaized it using my wife's Windows XP Pro work laptop. Since then, I set my daughter up with an iMac G3 all-in-one Rev3 sage. My question is... how to get the iTunes songlist off the windows machine, and then re-initialize the iPod Mini as a Mac formatted device which can be seen by the iMac and up/downloan the song library imported from the windows system (if at all possible) without losing everything. Thanks in advance for any help. Scot.

Yes, that's possible.
Here's some software that can do it.

Hi Dale. Thanks a million! I'll give it a try and let you know how I make out. Scot.
P.S. Will I still have to reformat/initialize the iPod?

Yes, if you want to use the iPod on the Mac, you will need to restore the iPod while connected to the iMac.
Here's an Apple support page that lists the system requirements - you will need to upgrade the Mac's OS X version if you have not done so yet.
http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/
That page also will allow you to download the latest version of the iPod updater, which is what you need to use to restore the iPod (and yes, that will erase all the songs on the iPod)

Hi Dale. I downloaded and purchase the iPod.iTunes you suggested on Version Tracker and it seems to be a good product for two way synchronization. So far the iPod's songs are appearing in the iMac's iTunes window, but I can't synchronize (copy) until I rename the iPod. It's showing an error that the iPod's name contains non-ASCII characters. I turned off file sharing which usually allows the re-naming of a disk, but the iPod's name won't highlight for change, although the other drives do highlight. The name assigned to the iPod by the Windows machine is: ERIN'S_IPOD* and I guess the underscore and the box at the end are the non-ASCII characters that the iPod.iTunes software is having a problem with. Any ideas on how to rename this disk without going back onto the Windows machine? I've also tried looking at it to re-name while in the main hard drive window of the system folder. No dice. Waiting for a reply from the software writer after a similar inquiry at this time. Thanks again for any help. Greatly appreciated. Scot.

Hi Dale. The software writer responded saying that the iPod should be re-nameable when highlighted in the source list of iTunes, and not on the Finder desktop. Do you concur? Thanks. Scot.
