Before buying a Ipod touch I have to be sure I can sync my calendar with that of my secretary who uses a PC. Used with satisfaction a palm one life drive but would like to do the same with my Ipod... Does ICal run on PC? Can an Ipod touch sync with palm desktop on a PC?
Thanks

Hi Dominique,
Unfortunately, iCal is a mac only product. Your iPod touch will sync with Microsoft Outlook (not Express) or Palm Desktop. Put your Touch startup disc in your pc and run it. A window will pop up stating Discover your device. There is a change your sync method choice. Click on it and you will be given a choice to use palm desktop or microsoft outlook.
I hope this helps.

Hi Grant
Just bought a ipod touch... it did not come with a startup disc so I downloaded Itune7.6. I also have the january update of the touch software. I never had the discover your device window... It identified it readily and mounted it on I-tune. In the info on the touch I do have a window that asks me if I want to synchronise my calendar but palm does not appear there, only outlook... I remind you that I work on a PC running windows (not vista thank God)

That's contrary to the information I have on how things should work. I'll re-open this ticket for another tech with more expertise in this area to have a look at.
cheers

Thanks Grant I appreciate your help. The other step I tried was to read the manual in details and again all it talks about is syncing with outlook (which I might end up doing if i cannot do otherwise). I also browsed quickly on Apple website to try and find a startup disk or install application for ipod touch on Windows. No success there either.
Thanks anyway and as expected I am so hooked up to the other features of the touch that I will probably keep it anyway...
