TICKET ARCHIVE -> Ipod to itunes

Is there a straight forward way to copy music from Ipod to Itunes on my iMac? There is a lot of info flying around the web but then you read people writing that it works or doesn't work or deletes the music from iPod etc. Looking for a simple way that just works---no problems?

You need extra software to do that task.
most use of of these:

One is called (amazingly) ipod.itunes (costs $25)
