Hi Karim,

My name is Chase and I will be assisting you with this issue.

Try the following steps to resolve your issue:

1.) Close iSync if it is open.
3.) Open Finder.
4.) Navigate to /Users/user_name/Library/Preferences (where user_name is your OS X username).
5.) Locate the filed named "com.apple.isync.plist" (without the quotation marks).
6.) Drag com.apple.isync.plist to the trash.
7.) Empty the trash (control-click on Trash -> Empty Trash)
8.) Start iSync and retry to sync your device.

If the above doesn't work please contact me back for additional assistance.

Dear Chase,
Thank you for the quick response, however it didn't work. When i opened isync after deleting the file you told me about, isync opened but i still can't add any device and can't configure the device for the synchronization. I opened the log file and it showed the following message: "Error. engine failure".
I don't mind removing completely isync and re-installing it, although i tried it before and it didn't work(but maybe i removed it in a wrong way).Tell me what you think.

Regards,

Karim

Karim,

What type of device are you trying to sync and who is its manufacturer and model? Do you have any third part syncronization or calander software installed on the computer and if so, what?

While you are getting that information you can try the following:

1.) Launch iSync.
2.) Click "iSync" -> "Preferences"
3.) Click "Reset Sync History History"
4.) Restart iSync and try again to sync.

Dear chase,
Thank you again for your reply and sorry to bother you. I am not able to open isync in order to go to preferences. The moment i click on isync, the program quits and i have the message that isync quits unexpectedly.
Another thing, please note that i am able to open isync and it works very good if i log as system administrator. But it's when i log with my username that i have isync problems.

Karim,

I appologize again for the delay in answering your question.

Try removing iSync from your user account from the directory //Applications/iSync (where is your username) by dragging it to the trash. Then.. delete the "com.apple.isync.plist" file from /Users//Library/Preferences/ again.

Now copy the iSync program from /Applications back into your //Applications/ and try again to sync your device.

If this doesn't work let me know.

Dear Chase,
Thank you for your help, but it still didn't work. Don't bother with it. I don't think it will ever work.

Thank you again,
