Does anyone have a solution to this problem yet?
PodTube has not been installed on this computer.
It does have Reason and ProTools.
I have followed all instuctions on this post and all others I could find.

Does anyone have a solution yet?

Hello
My name is Ben
I read that a user named steve experienced exactly the same problem as i do, which is the following :

"i am currently having problems with iTunes/quicktime. Both seems to be not responding when i fire it up. i have reinstalled Quicktime back to 6.5 from 7.0 and itunes."

Cheryl from macosx.com responded the following :

"Steve,

There are preference files in your Home folder>Library folder>Preferences.
When you are in that preference folder, go to the view menu and select by list. This will put everything in alpha order. Now locate and trash the following:
com.apple.iTunes.plist
com.apple.iTunes.Helper.plist
com.apple.iTuneshelper.plist
com.apple.iTunes.eq.plist
com.apple.quicktime.plugin.preferences.plist
QuickTime Preferences
QuickTime Favorites

If you have more than one file, trash them all.

Empty the trash, then give iTunes and Quicktime a try. "

Which i tried, but it seems that it didn't solve my problem. Steve re-installed the OS but if any of you had any other alternative i would be highly interested.
Thanks for your support,
Ben

Hi Ben,

Sometimes the files you're trying play are corrupted or unreadable by iTunes and Quicktime. Make sure the file extensions are ones these two programs can identify and open. There might also be some other running program that could be interfering with iTunes and Quicktime launch. Do you have something processor-intensive running while trying to launch either of these programs?

Before you reinstall your OS, do repair your disk permissions via Disk Utility.

Sincerely,
Vishad

Thanks for the response. I had already tried those suggestions. I recently added a pci usb card. I removed it and everything works. I do not know if the port or the card was bad, I will figure that out later.
I also uninstalled realplayer, but I think the card was the problem. I hope this helps others who have this problem.
