I've finished installing Leopard on a new clean samsung 250gb hd. I managed to reload my library of music onto the new OS and wanted to erase and sync my ipod to the system, but the iTunes application continually closes on its own as it attempts to sync with the ipod. What can I do?
Thanks!

Hi Tiffany,
Thanks for using macosx.com.
At what point during the sync does it crash on you, is it when its syncing the music, contacts, calendar, etc?
Thanks,
Jason

Hi Jason,
I only ask the itunes to sync my music, so it crashes at random intervals during the syncing process. Sometimes as few as 2 songs have been synched, other times as much as 100 songs have been "synched"/transferred before the application abruptly shuts down.

Try this, open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder stored in your Applications folder. When you open that on the left hand side will be a list of hard drives or disks connected to your computer, one will be name Macintosh HD (unless you renamed your hard drive). Click on it so it's highlighted. Then on the right hand side of the window, you have multiple tab options, on is called First Aid, click on that. On the bottom of that window are 4 options:
Verify Disk Permissions
Repair Disk Permissions
Verify Disk
Repair Disk
Click on Repair Disk Permissions and let that run. Once it is done, restart your computer and try the sync again.
Let me know if that works or not!
Thanks,
Jason
