I just got an iBook and would like to transfer my itunes that i have on my home computer, a PC, onto it. I know how to enable Disk Mode on my ipod, but when I tired to drag on some pictures and then move them to the iBook, I couldn't find them inside the ipod window.
Help!! ALl I want is to tranfer my itunes files to my new computer. I don't know why this is so hard to find out how to do, it seems like it would be a perfectly legitamate and common concern for new Mac users who previously owned a PC. Thanks!

An iPod that has been setup to work on Windows cannot be used on a Mac unless you restore the iPod to its original Mac state. However, that will erase the hard drive and all the music on it.

However, your iBook and your PC can be networked together using Ethernet. Here's an article on how to transfer data from a PC to a Mac:

http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=75320.

If your PC has a Firewire port, then it's possible to put the iBook into Target Disk Mode and access it from the PC via a FW cable.

You can also search versiontracker.com for utilities that will copy your music files from an iPod to the computer. I don't know if any work with an iPod setup for Windows.
