I have noticed in the last 2 days that my iTunes keeps opening. I quit the program, and about 2 minutes later it opens itself back up again. I have no idea why it keeps doing this, so I am asking if you have any suggestions.
What I have done so far:
- I checked for software updates; there aren't any.
- I checked my preferences for iTunes, didn't find anything that would help.

I am at a loss as to what to do, please help.

Hi and welcome back to macosx.com

As far as I know, things that can force iTunes to launch:

-Inserting an audio CD.
-Plugging in an iPod.
-Using iChat in Tiger with your status set to the "now playing" in iTunes
-iTunes controller in Dashboard.
-iTunes controller in Konfabulator
-preferences set in browser to launch iTunes when it encounters an URL redirecting to a mp3 (or equivalent)
- Limewire, Frostwire or equivalent p2p running program with a direct download to iTunes library

Move to the Desktop the 3 iTunes prefs (in your ~/Library/Preferences, where ~means your Home directory):
com.apple.iTunes.eq.plist
com.apple.iTunes.plist
com.apple.iTunesHelper.plist

and test. If no change, you can put them back in place.

Regards
Philippe
