I've recently put some CD into mine iTunes. Itunes made contact with the server to retrieve the names of those songs. Sometimes it happend that iTunes gave me a list where I needed to choose the right CD from. All this information came from the internet database.
But with one CD Jerry Lewis I've just clicked on a item (database selection). Now I've deleted all the tracks from that CD on mine iTunes library and mine HD. But every-time I instert that CD again I don't get a possible list to choose from.
But when I go to the 'advanced menu' and select 'retrieve tracknames' then I get back that multiple list from the database.
But now I'm curious...it seems that OS X stores the information from every CD that you have put in it. How else comes that the systems know which entry to choose from a multiply choose in the database of iTunes.
But where does the system stores that kind of information? I've also heard on a Dutch forum that OS X stores everything about every CD you have every put in it. (DVD, data, Music,...) Is this true? And where can I see this? How can I delete that?

To my knowledge, information about *every* CD is not saved. Audio CD info for iTunes is stored in a single file, CD Info.cidb, in each user's Preferences folder. The database is Gracenote's CDDB service.
