Hi - I have lost sound quaility in itunes. It is only in itunes and through extenal speakers as well as the built in. The mac center did a test and said that it is software not hardware. I have the latest itunes so I can't update the software. I don't want to lose my library but I do want to reinstal the software, Is there an easy solution, Thanks.

By deleting iTunes itself, you will not lose any songs (by draggingiTunes from the harddrive and dragging to trash, also go to library/receipts and deleting any .pkg files with the words "iTunes" in the file. When reinstalling the program, manually drag all songs from the itunes music folders to the itunes music library, where they will be copied and stored.

Thankyou, I did this and reinstalled itunes. But I still have the same problem. The sound quaility is bad, especially in the bass. The same songs on a different computer through the same leads and speakers sounds fine.

The Apple center did a test and said that it is not hardware, but I have reinstalled itunes and still the same problem. Do I have to reinstall Tiger??? I had so much trouble last time I had to do that. The same music in real player on this computer sounds fine. I am usually a good trouble shooter but this has got me stumped. If anyone knows what could be going on can you let me know? Thanks.

PS. I have volume logic, but it sounds bad with or without it.
