I have a problem! Or maybe more than one.
I have built a site with iWeb and runned some testes: mov videos didnt played on windows unless you installed QuickTime, but mpegs played well.
First problem: now i tried to publish avi video and it wont play on windows: i am asked to install additional components of QuickTime!!! I tried wmv and its the same.
Second problem: all elements of the page dont appear until the movie is totally downloaded. Is there a way to load first the text, etc and then the movie in the player?
Any help is wellcome!
I don't know if I fully understand the second part of your problem but the answer to your first question is pretty simple.
iWeb will only work with QuickTime compatible files, QT, MP3 M4a, Mpeg and so on. AVI and windows media will not play.
The way to make this compatible all the way around is to make sure the people visiting your site have QT. Most do.
also note, Protected media, like songs from the itunes music store will not play due to copy right reasons.
Thanks! So, i just have to publish QT compatible movies and ask for visitors do download QT. Is that it?
The second problem is that the text on the page (the one with the video) doesn't appear until the video is fully downloaded. I suppose this has something to do with streaming, but i don't know how to load first everything and then the video.
Sorry for my bad english!!!
