Hi there,
I'm planning to clear out my hardrive and reinstall all of my softward plus a newer version of OS X (I currently have 10.1, which I upgraded from 9.1).
My question is whether it's worth upgrading to Panther, or if Jaguar is a safer bet given my small hard drive (my computer is a dual USB white IBook, 10GB, 256MB, 500Mhz). Would Panther pose any problems on my computer? I use it for word processing, graphic design (using recent versions of Quark and Adobe software), email/Internet, minimal web work using Dreamweaver.
Many thanks!
I would go with Panther for greater stability and compatibility. Other than security updates, Jaguar doesn't get much support anymore. Panther will run fine on that system and I think you'll be satisfied with it. Meanwhile, the $30 cost difference is hard to beat (from Other World Computing -
