When trying to view video on AOL a meesage comes up from Javascript saying "there was a problem retrieving all the data for this content". I have checked the Java settings in AOL and they are ennabled.I assume the fault is in the Java application in my Hard Drive, but I do not know how to set it,

I was wondering if you could clear up a few things.
First you say a "video on AOL", then you say you checked your settings in AOL. Do you mean you were viewing the website aol.com or an affiliate and there was a problem, or do you mean that you were using AOL's web browser.
Second, Java and javascript are two completely seperate things. Were you trying to access a java applet, I figure aol would use something on their website like flash instead of java. Anyway, the message sounds like it was a problem with aol's servers, it's probably their general error message, when there is any problem with the videos.
If you just use another computer, and also can't access the website, then it was just a problem with aol at the time. You might want to just try again with your own computer also. It could just have been a temporary problem.
ALso I've never heard of having a problem with the java that's installed on your hard drive before, so I'm more likely to think it's aol's problem.

thank you so much for your response. The message comes up when I am using AOL as the Web Browser. If I am using firefox, no problem and I guess right there its telling me that it is a problem with the aol software. I have tried re-downloading the software but the same message appears.As I say, in aol, both Java and Javascript are ennabled. I also have realplayer and quicktime installed.I am working with a new MacBookPro, and maybe there is a difficulty related to AOL and Mac co-ordinating The videos that will not play are the news type videos.
