Is there some freeware for Macs similar to shortkeys lite for Windows, where I can type a key or combination of keys to enter some text etc.?

Hi John,

I've never used ShortKeys Lite, but it sounds very similar to a Mac program called MacroKey, which is free. Check it out at http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/9321

There are several other macro programs available, but I don't have any personal experience with them. If you're interested, you may want to look up Quicksilver, QuicKeys and iKey. You can find them all by searching at http://www.macupdate.com.

Hope this helps,
-Matthew

Hi,

I downloaded MacroKey and when I click on it, it asks me to choose an application to open it with. What should I choose? I am using 10.4.2

Oh, you'll need StuffIt Expander. This came pre-installed with OS X until Tiger, but now you need to download it at http://www.stuffit.com/mac/expander/
