I have a LaCie Porsche design hard drive, 250 gig, usb 2.0, i only have used it on 2 powerbook G4s, after transferring files from both computers to the hard drive when the laptops were rebooted, the disc stopped being recognized. what can i do ?

comes out in system profiler under USB High Speed Bus> LaCie Hard Drive USB

Does the drive show up in Disk Utility? I assume it is formatted for OSX. Have you tried to manually mount the drive.

the hard drive is fat 32, ijust learnt about hfs it think it was called, the drive does not come out in disk utility but it does show up in system profiler. Im also not sure how to manualy mount the drive..

o i forgot to mention, i have reinstalled mac osx tiger 10.4.1, i also bought disk warrior, no help, and i think data rescue couldent read the drive either

Fat32 is a windows format. It should still show up in Disk Utility. I bought the same drive, and immediately reformatted it OSX format. I am not sure what else could be going on. I will repool your question, sorry I could not help further.
