Problem: Software
Computer Type: Apple
Model: LC III
RAM: 32meg
RAM Enhancer: None
OS Version: System 7.5.3
Description:
I recently updated my father-in-law's LC III so he could connect to the internet. I installed a 32 meg simm, for a total of 36 megs of ram on his system. He is running system 7.5.3 with vitural memory off (he only has a 100 meg hard drive, with only 16 megs free). I've turned on 32 bit addressing for him but every time he starts up its off, forcing him to turn 32 bit addressing on again and to restart his computer.
Please help me!! Family relations are really getting strained, and I've tried all the obvious things (re-install system software, etc.)
Thanks
(a soon to victim of a grumpy old man)

Hi Ken and welcome to No Wonder!
The problem you describe is a symptom of your PRAM battery dying.
I suggest you install a new one, get more info here
