i recently bought a multi dvd writer from lg but there was no software or driver in the cd in the package? i'm using a powerbook g4 with 10.3.5 macos x software. isn't there any free driver for me to download?

Many DVD Writer are natively recognised by Panther
Connect the writer to the Mac throught the Firewire cabler (I suppose this external writer supports FireWire ??); power on the writer
Select the Apple icon on the extreme left upper corner -> About This Mac -> More infos. The Apple System Profiler window appears.
Select Firewire on the left. Does your burner appear on the right ?
About burning software
(1) DiskUtility (Applications/Utilities) can create an image (which you'll fill with the stuff to burn) and the burn. See the mac help for more details
