I have encountered a problem using LimeWire on my Mac (macosx os). The free "basic" version has been downloaded; however, I'm not able to activate the application. A shortcut was put on my desktop after the download. When I try to activate the link it merely shows up in the application tray and then disappears...nothing ever loads. At one point, I disabled my security settings and got the same result. Could something be preventing the application from loading? Any assistance would be appreciated.

It sounds like it might be a "Java Web Start" problem. Are you able to open"

/Applications/Utilities/Java/"Java Web Start"

Let me know what happens when you try to open this program.

& what OS are you running 10.1, 10.2, 10.3, 10.4
