Knowledge Level: Intermediate
Problem: Hardware
Computer Type: Apple
Model: 7200/90
RAM: 65+
RAM Enhancer: None
OS Version: MacOS 8.5.1

Description:
I'd like to input a line level analog signal (line output from a stereo amp for example) into a Mac 7200. Does the Plaintalk input connector on the back of the computer accept a standard stereo miniplug or do I need some other Plaintalk configuration?

When I plug a standard miniplug firmly into the connector, only the left channel is audible (I've tried a couple of different miniplugs with the same result.) By pulling the miniplug slightly out of the connector I can achieve a two channel connection but there is a little buzz creeping through. This half in-half out solution seems a little precarious when trying to maintain the integrity of the input audio signal.

What do you advise?

Thanks,

Jamie

Hi Jamie, welcome to Nowonder, I'm robertw.
The standard mini plu you're using is probably too short. The Apple uses a longer shaft for stereo in these plugs.
