Can't print using OSX 10.5 but can with XP Pro.

Printer is installed on wireless 'G' network with static IP address using a Linksys WPSM54G PrintServer. PrintServer/Printer is installed as an IP printer on MAC with R380 drivers loaded. (Drivers are from Epson website and claim 10.5 support).

When printing from the MAC's I get a 'printer busy' message.

What drives me crazy is that all of the XP machines print fine.

I've seen some mention of putting 'P1' in the print queue on the Mac side -- tried it, didn't work. Also tried connecting to printserver from the Mac using a socket connection. Still no luck.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Thanx in Advance.

First - driver. Drivers on OS X aren't like on Windows (yet). A driver isn't simply a driver... There are two kinds. The one provided by Epson was written using Carbon, and it will only work with whatever they wrote into it - USB only. You'll need to use the latest Gutenprint driver from:
http://www.linux-foundation.org/en/OpenPrinting/macosx

For the print server - I'd try L1 for queue name, or USB1. Refer to page 32 of the manual (queue name equals port name - maybe equals printer port?).

Thank you for rapid response - most appreciated.

RE: linux-open print drivers:
Naturally the Epson Stylus Color R380 is not on the list of drivers, and Epson is no help getting me 'close' to the proper driver. Any suggestions as to which Gutenprint driver I should try?

I'll try the Queue name to see if that helps.

I'd try R340. It really doesn't hurt to try.
