I did the upgrade as advised from QickTime 7.1.6 (which had been working flawlessly w/ both Safari & Firefox) to 7.2 and now it plays NO videos w/ Firefox at all -- not in ads, news items, nothing. All I get is a QT logo that's dimmed with a question mark in ftont. Safari still plays web vids.

Hoping to get back to where web videos worked w/ Firefox, I archived QT 7.2 and put QT 7.1.6 back in my Apps folder. QT works, but Firefox still only shows a greyed out QT logo and doesn't play any vids.

Any suggestions?

The QT embedded video you are watching uses java script. Check your preferences for this to be turned on.

These are my versions that are working fine.
QuickTime™ Version 7.2.0, Player Version 7.2 (7.2)
Firefox 2.0.0.4
Flip4Mac 2.1.0.33 (i am downloading the update as we speak)

Within FireFox if you are watching video content that is a .WMV, quicktime trying to play them without Flip4Mac being functional will not work.

Also you may verify your permissions with Disk Utility.

Thanks for your assist. Java IS on; I have the lastest versions you listed (I double checked); I verified permissions... Still doesn't play vids in Firefox. There's been no problem until I (just) updated QT, and the link to the quicktime.html page actually plays, but none other.

PROBLEM SOLVED!!!

Your lead on Flash did the trick! One site advised removing/deleting the doc, "pluginreg.dat", from the Firefox & Mozilla folders. This was causing QT to try & take over flash operations. I trashed them, rebooted Firefox and everything's back to normal.

Thanks for your help!
