Just purchased Tiger for 3 installations.
One is installed once to his power book and I am now having a heck of a time installing on my iMac. I have OS9 and OSx 10.2.8. on this computer. There is plenty of room.
The disk only states "error in installation". Does not tell me what the error is.
I can get around the computer, but am not tech savvy.
Help!

The Tiger installer DVD is very sensitive to slight drive problems. I have seen this a number of times of different Macs. I usually just try the install again. Try wiping the surface of the DVD with a soft, dry cloth, and try again.
I had to restart the installer 8 times on my own personal computer (a 5 year old iMac) and eventually it completed. Don't give up until what you feel is a reasonable number of times.
Try shutting the computer down overnight so it's completely cool when you begin.
If you just can't get it to complete, and you have FireWire available on two Macs, you can do a FireWire target mode install from another system.
