Description:
My computer will not start. CompUSA says that I need a new logic board at at cost of $720. This seems like a lot of money when I see refurbished macs and new old units for less. Is the installation of a new board smart? Can I buy and install a logic board myself? Is there a problem with buying a refurbished logic board and trying to install it myself? are the vendors that advertise in your magazine reputable? Thanks!

When you say "will not start" what do you mean?

If the monitor is totally black then it may be the monitor or your power supply or ...

If you are getting a "Sad Mac" it could be anything from a bad logic board to a bad System file on your hard drive. Let us know a little more detail and we will try to help.
