Now I've REALLY done it! I lost that little grey icon at the bottom that brings up my OS X Tiger screen with 5 tabs (I think). Two of them are .Mac and Quick Time.
It's not in the trash that I can find. When I use the spotlight and type in Quicktime and .Mac, it can't find them. I can't see The Q for Quicktime or any of those other five icons in Tiger either. Hope someone can help!

Hello Lillian,

Firstly, the grey icon you are talking about is it the one with the spring that opens the Mac OS X page in Safari? Then go to http://www.apple.com/macosx/ and drag the apple icon from the address bar to your dock. Make sure to position it on the right of the little vertical bar.

Secondly to restore the Q for quick time, go to the Applications folder and drag the QuickTime icon onto your dock.

I am not sure what else you are missing. Please tell if this solves your problem.
