Depending on how long you have had Win '98 installed, all you have to do is the following.......
1) Go to Start, Find, Files or Folders,
2) Type win.* and make sure that you are searching the C: drive with All subdirectories checked. Then push the find button.
3) You should come up with a couple of files. win.com (ignore this win.com file) and win.ini being two of them. You should also have a couple more win files like win.001 win.bak .. etc. All around 6kb-15kb. Find the file that has the most currect date. Rename win.ini to something like win.oop (doesn't not matter what you name the last three letters....just don't give it the same name as another in the list). Rename the most currect win.* file to win.ini . Reboot the computer and see what happens.

Sincerely,
James Kelley
