when i go to the print function, it only displays the first/last name and address -- i want to include the company name (which is on the card in all my contacts). i have tried everything and can't get it to print it or even find a menu to select (as with the mailing list function). the same thing happens when you try to print envelopes.
alternately, i tried to import the vcard into word via the "data merge" function - that didn't work either. this is such a simple and routine thing to do, i can't figure out why it's so difficult!!
can you help? feel free to post on the public forum if you think it will get a quicker answer.
thanks!
Hi Linda,
I do see this as a limitation of Address Book, I couldn't find a way to do it either.
However, try this program, called Pear Labelizer, it is free. You can find it here (it's like the 2nd or 3rd program listed)
http://www.pearworks.com/pages/software.html
After you install it, you can go into 'Preferences' in the program, and then choose the address book tab, and it will give you a list of options that you want it to take from address book. It doesn't say company, but it says, Organization, and that is the same thing.
For example, here is what mine looked like:
[organization]
[firstname] [lastname]
[street]
[zip] [city]
[country]
And it will work with you address book as well. If you have trouble, it does have a Help option under the program's menu, so look there as well. Play around with it, it's pretty easy to figure out. If I can help you more with it (if you choose to use it), please let me know.
