is there anything I could use mac.com for that I don't alrady have?

I have a website on blogspot (bruceliles.2ya.com)

two myspace websites (mypace.com/bruceliles and myspace.com/jbruce38)

I have a buzznet.com acct (which I use to put pictues on the blogspot pages)

I use hotmail.

I use the mac.com email address so I could get a second myspace acct (I have two distinct types of music educational songs for kids in english and spanish and political stuff and I ddin't want them mixing)

the only thing I can think of is using it for tech support (I had one question in the last year)

I had originally hoped it would provide a large enough space to use it for songs, or videos but I don't think it does.

thanks for your input.

Hello :-)

First of all, if you have a .mac account you must be using iDisk on your Desktop to upload photos to a blog. You should have 2GB of space available for that.

You can use Backup to back up your iTunes Library if you have one. You can sync iCal.

Your website (bruceliles.2ya.c om) is not a Mac address but you could be using your .mac account for a website! It's included in your annual .mac payment and so easy to use.

Do you have iLife 06? If so, you can use iWeb in that software suite to create blogs/websites and slideshows to share with friends.

Since you are using Hotmail, that is Microsoft and a great e-mail server but you could be using Mail which is part of the .mac account which can be accessed from anywhere anytime.

Your iDisk can be accessed anytime from any computer from anywhere in the world with an internet connection.

I understand your wanting to keep e-mail content separate. Use .mac Mail for one and Hotmail for the other.

To get a better idea of what a .mac account can do for you, go here:

If you have any more questions, please just post back and I'll get to it as soon as I can.

Bless you heart... sometimes computer stuff can be so confusing that we it's easy to be overwhelmed but that's why there is Macosx.com to help you with that.

First, here's a link that has videos at the Apple site to tell you all the things you can do with iDisk. It goes into greater detail then I can.
http://www.apple.com/dotmac/idisk.html

This link will give you a feature overview over a .mac account:

Bruce, have you got the iDisk icon on your Desktop? If so, then double click the iDisk icon. When that window opens you will see files like backup, Desktop, Documents, Groups, Library, Movies, Music, Pictures, Public, Shared, Sites, Software and Web. Say you want create a Homepage using your .mac account. You would navigate online to your .mac account. Then you would click Homepage. All you have to do is drag photos from your hard drive to your iDisk>Pictures folder. Then they are ready when you wan to build a Homepage. Now, if you have iLife 06, you can upload audio/video and still images to create blogs, podcasts... it's just plain fun!

thank you

I guess I should get iLife '06

I don't care much about the photos part of it

I do need to know how to podcast

I am a performer that has an audience out there

they just don't know about me

if you happen to describe yourself as a Progressive

or are way sick of this administration

check out myspace.com/jbruce38

if you are a neo-con, I think it's time for you to start giving me the wrong information

also, I have a very popular kid song at myspace.com/bruceliles that is kid-tested good (pre-k to 2nd or 3rd grade)

thank you so much

I can figure out a lot of stuff, but I am a visual learner. I generally need to see it done (but with dial-up, I may have to wait on the video instructions--but I'm gonna try going to my acct anyway)
