Hi, im purchasing a Mac Mini (1.4Ghz G4/ 512Mb RAM/80Gb HD/combo drive/ ATI 9200 with 32Mb VRAM) and i want to buy some games with it. but i dont want to spend alot of money on a game and it play horribly. im thinking of buying halo, star wars:knights of the old rebublic, battlefield: 1942 and probably similar system demanding games. i know these games system requirements are below the mac minis specs but i also know that doesnt mean theyll play well. sorry this question probably isnt very important so i dont mind waiting for a answer.

thnx, Timmy.

Hi Timmy,

Personally, I do Medal of Honor and Call of Duty on a G5.

The games you mention WILL all run on a Mini, but you will have to turn down the graphics settings to a lower resolution. If you can afford it, up your RAM to 1 Gb and the VRAM in your graphics card to at least 64Mb.

Hope that helps.

thnx CaptainQuark for coming to my rescue, and thnx for the advice. but i don't think the video memory can be increased on the mac mini (not enough room). please tell me it can. but i think ill go for the option of 1Gb RAM, thnx.

Hmmm…

You're right about the 32Mb VRAM. Still, the boost to 1Gb of RAM will definitely improve performance.
