Hello. I have an Apple Powerbook G4, with 1.25 gigs of Ram. Just now, I restarted my computer, and when I went to open Ichat and Safari, the both freeze. I tried to force quit, but nothing would respond. I ended up manually shutting off and turning on the computer. This time I tried Ichat. It started and loaded my buddy list, then froze. I turned it off/on again, tried safari, but it was frozen. Next time I turned it off/on, I checked my widgets. They were frozen. Everything else runs fine, until it tries to utilize the internet. I tried using an ethernet connection to see if the problem was with the airport. But the problem continued. Can anyone help me please?
I fixed the problem. This is what I did.
I inserted the Mac OS X install disc one. Restarted computer, and held down 'c' to boot from disc. Then, I used system profiler to repair the hard disc, and it's partitions. I then used the startup disc utility to restart and load the hard drive. When everything loaded, my widgets worked, and I openned Ichat and safari. Safari said that it had been updated, and asked if I wished for it to copy over my old keychains. Ichat just went through the normal configuration process of when it is started for the first time.
