Hi, i didn't know where to look for this so i figured i would start here. i am aware of the Boot camp program that allows windows to run natively on an Apple. my question is this, can i run a 64-bit version of Tiger on my windows based machine? i'm sick and tired of windows x64 bit edition, and i really don't want to run Linux on my machine because i would have to learn that. i know OS X pretty well and would love to run that but i'm not sure if it will work. please let me know. Thank You
~Spencer
Tiger is not a true 64 bit OS. The PowerPC processor is not a 64 bit processor although if I remember correctly the G5 CPU has a 64 bit data path, but internally only 32 bit registers.
Boot Camp is not a program that runs windows natively. Rather it is a system of patches that allows an Intel Mac to dual boot such that you can install Windows on a separate disk partition. Boot Camp patches then allow Windows to run natively when you boot separately onto the Windows partition.
OS X, by the way, is essentially Unix which is quite similar to Linux.
