Hi
Just want to know how to uninstall software i.e Adobe Photoshop CS and Norton Antivirus from my I-Mac G5. I am currently running OSX 10.3.9.
Do I just pick up the icon/files and bin it?
If I do a search for these programmes there are lots of files stored in other folders, how should I bin these...one by one???
Is there not a quicker way? If I bin the folder with the software I want to remove, is every other file to do with the programme automatically removed?
Many thnx!
Marianne
There's a nifty program called AppZapper that will make this easy for you
www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/28764
Last I read if I am recalling correctly, AppZapper only removed files actually containing the name of the app in the filenames. Since this could also be easily accomplished with the Finder, AppZapper is not too much use.
If there are installer logs for the apps you want to remove it may be worth checking those. If space is not at too much a of a premium it's usually fine just to remove everything you can easily find that is part of the app, empty the Trash, and not worry about the rest (which will not be automatically removed just because you trash the app, to answer that question).
Let me know if this helps.
