Hi Macosx

There must be an easy answer to this.

I have my photos rotating every 1 minute as desktop background.

The view Options are 'Fill screen' , 'Stretch to fill screen', 'Center', & 'Tile'

With all these options parts of my photos, usually the borders, are lost.

It would seem as if the options all zoom in on the photo, and as said, around the edge of the photos are lost, eg heads and legs as example in a portrait photo.

My photos come from a Panisonic Lumix camera.

Can anyone help, so I can see the photos on my desktop as they appear as the .jpg file when viewed in Preview?

Many thanks
Steve

i would compare your images to apple's default background images and make sure they are exactly the same size. Hopefully you have photoshop or something simiar with which to resize your images.

Let me know if this doesn't work.

Thanks for the response.

I dont have photoshop, could the resizing be done in iphoto?

How do I find out how to get the image size of the Mac default background images? Have tried and cant seem to find a way.

Do you pass glitches to Apple Mac? It seems silly to me that photos from iphoto cannot be displayed on the desktop as they are seen in iphoto or in Preview. Macs are simple intuitive machines, to have to resize photos in another software programme is unnecessary, will you pass this on or doo you have a contact for me to pass it to Apple?

Thanks for your assistance, thanks for answering above

Cheers
Steve

Yes, resizing can be done in iphoto:
http://www.apple.com/ilife/tutorials/iphoto/index.html

Find out image size either by going to system prefs/monitors and see what's selected (this is in pixels, which should be the dimensions of your photos if you want them to display, and at 72dpi) or by looking in iphoto for the dimensions of your default apple backgrounds.

This isn't an apple glitch, it has to do with the size of your photos not matching your screen dimensions. Apple is a great company, but they can't control your content! At least they've provided the means to fix this issue with iphoto.

I'm here to help.
