My Mac OSX Terminal, upon launching automatically goes to MySql, when I want it to go to the prompt. is there a special file I can edit, i.e .profile, that would clear this?
Secondly, I cant seem to get an alias to point to the mysql path, so I can run mysql from any directory in terminal.

Welcome to the tech support forum.
Your question is interesting to me... i am not fluent in using Terminal but on reading your request i did some digging. Here is a page from apple that might help or not!

If there are others here who know... your question will be answered.
I will keep you posted, as well as try to discover a solution.

Thanks mate. not sure if that helps me. I need to know which file to edit. I can get to the terminal prompt, by using PathFinder, so i can edit a profile file, but i just need ot know what and how.
Thanks in advance

Nice!
From editing .profile etc. I've caused problems to the point where I'll always keep another terminal session open, so that if everything goes pear-shaped it's easier to recover. Just my 2c.
