Description:
I am using Quicken 4.0 and all goes well with input until I highlight "print register" from drop down menu--immediately the computer freezes sometimes arrow will not move and forces me to shut down and restart. (Escape does not work).
Window box comes up with message about Teleport/modem is not connected. We don't use the modem and haven't ever em because Word 6 prints fine.
Have looked in Chooser and the HL printer is selected, but when I restart and go back to chooser the HL is not selected. Checked connections, checked extentions, and unchecked the other three printers listed, so only the HL is selected. Still freezes. What's up?

Thanks for giving us here at Nowonder the opportunity to answer your question, I am Nevin of the Mac staff. I would recommend first rebuilding your desktop, then zapping your Pram. That done allocate quicken a couple more megs of memory if you have it to spare. If all else fails reload quicken and do it with your extensions off. If feasable the purchase of ram doubler is highly recommended as it will tripple your available memory, this will help with running large programs like quicken, word, excel etc... You may also want too give Print Monitor some more memory (in the extension file). Most programs these days are memory hogs and it is hurting owners that have less that 64 meg. I hope this information is helpful, if not please let me know as I can try a few more thing to help you. FYI: Rebuilding the desktop tell your computer what programs work together and this tells your printer what apps to print with. I recommend rebuilding the desktop regularly as well as zapping your pram (weekly at a minimum), if you need assistance with these functions just let me know and I will be glad to help you.
