I recently bought a MBP 2.0 Ghz, 1.5 ram and i have been experiencing many issues. Ive been reading online about the heat issues and sound issues, but was wondering if you have heard anything/have any advice? The computer gets extremely hot during use, on battery and plugged in. I suspect that this will not be "fixable."
The sound on the other hand...there is a constant high-pitched whine, that seems to be the CPU. When running apps such as photo booth, the sound stops. Is there a fix to this, a permanent one?
Also, as of tonight, dashboard has ceased to open. It shows it running in the dock, but it will not actually open. Any tips?
And lastly, as of tonight, the battery will not charge past 95%. I have reset the PMU twice, but still no luck.
Any help with any of these problems would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Gabe

Well,

I think the best thing you should do is to take your macbook pro where yuo bought it or to contact apples support. You have applecare on and it is most likely that they will replace your macbook.

The macbooks get hot, like the powerbooks, but actually not that hot. So if you can compare it to powerbook macbook should not be that hot. Apple is replacing macbooks which are running too hot.

I have also hear about the sound in macbooks and that another reason you should try replacing or fixing you macbook right away.

But anyway I will leave this open to other techs to look at, if you wish to fix these problems yourself

all the best, tomi

I've been considering swapping it for a new one, however, the issues im experiencing seem to be present in even the newest revisions.
The battery issue seemed to fix itself, so now I'm just wanting to fix the dashboard issue.
Anyone know anything about dashboard?
Thanks.
