INTRO
I am a first time mac user and just bought a new Macbook pro (2.4 GHZm 2 GIG Ram) from my school. First I want to say holy ****! Macs really are Freaking amazing, I wish I didn't believe the "stereotypes" about them when I was younger which always prevented me from buying one (Most software won't run on macs, they only use one click, blah, blah, blah) Anyways...

PROBLEM
My mac seems to have a screen problem. It will randomly get darker for a few seconds, then back to being bright as it should be. Sometimes it does this every 10 seconds and sometimes not at all for hours. I just bought this Macbook Pro yesterday so I KNOW it should not be like this. Is there an easy way I can fix this? Or should I take it to an Apple Store?

Thank you!

If you have only had since yesterday I should return it to where you bought it from and ask for a replacement. Definitely sounds faulty to me.

haha, i'm such an idiot. Apparently it's a feature on MacBook Pro's that adjusts the screen brightness as ambient light changes. It's under the brightness menu of the Apple Preferences. I just turned it off and now everything works fine, THANKS!!!
