HOW DO I GET THE VIDEO_TS FOLDER ONTO A
DVD THAT WILL STAND ALONE/START-UP ALONE?
IT RIPS AND RUNNING DVD PLAYER I CAN SELECT THE FOLDER AND RUN THE MOVIE, BUT WHEN I ,PUT IT ON A DVD AND BURN BOTH THE COMPUTER AND SEPERATE DVD PLAYER WON'T WORK.

You do not explain how/which tool you use to burn but:

* either you create a DVD image ready to burn (through for instance DVDImager; http://lonestar.utsa.edu/llee/apples...dvdimager.html), then burn the image with Finder burning facility

* either you use special commercial burning softwares like Toast which create this image -in background- before burning.

So, no, you cannot burn the VIDEO_TS "as it": there is an authoring process in between to make an image viewable on home DVD player
