How do I make a copy of all of my files on my computer (an ibook 14in. 1 ghz) to my external drive (usb)

Hi Bryson, my name is Dale. I'll try to answer your question.
If all you need is a copy of your files, you can just drag the files you want to copy to the other drive. It's that simple.
If you want to make a bootable backup to the other drive (copy everything including the operating system) then you can use your Disk Utility to create an image of your present drive on the second drive. You would use the 'restore' tab to prepare the drives for this.
Or, you can use one of the more specialized backup utilities, like Carbon Copy Cloner (shareware), or Retrospect (a commercial product)
