KNOWLEDGE LEVEL: I'm New!

PROBLEM: Software
COMPUTER TYPE: Dell
MODEL: Pentium II 333
RAM: 64meg
OS VERSION: Windows 98
SERVICE PACK:

DESCRIPTION:

Hello...I hope you can help.
My computer came with Windows 95. I upgraded it to windows 98 (Dell sent me the 98 upgrade).
The computer boots up, goes thru it's start-up checklist, but directly there after and prior to the screen, MicrosoftWindows 98,I get the following screen:
C:\>REM [HEADER}
Bad command / or file
After this screen, up comes the Microsoft Windows 98 picture.

What does this mean? What should I do? Anything else I should know?

Thank you so very much....Michael

Hi Michael! Don't worry, this is just a remnant of your AUTOEXEC.BAT file. Basically, there is a command in your autoexec.bat file, but the program cannot be found. If Windows 98 works fine, you have nothing to worry about. However, if you wish to get rid of the error, please e-mail me back and attach a file called C:\AUTOEXEC.BAT.

Hope this helps! Feel free to contact me if you have any questions!
