I plan to use the migration tools that Apple provides. However, I have been told that I need to deauthorize iTunes and Photoshop CS2.

(1) How do I deauthorize the two programs in question?

(2) What other problem areas should I watch for in migrating my exiting G5 stuff to my new, pristine and, might I say, absoutely gorgeous Intel iMac?

Incidentally, 24'' is HUGE!!! And, I just don't understand how my new iMac can be so much faster than my big honkin' G5 Dual Processor????

for iTunes, go under the Store menu, and choose 'Deauthorize computer'.
You'll need to check at the Adobe web site for good information for transferring CS2 to the Intel Mac. Could be a convenient time to upgrade to CS3, and get native performance on your Core2Duo system!
If you have any older mac software that requires Classic, those won't be easily usable on the Intel system, as Classic doesn't work.
Check for any external hardware, printers/scanners, etc for updated drivers, either listed as Universal, or for Intel Macs. Depending on what you have, this might be your most important task! Go to the respective web sites for each manufacturer for possible updates.
You are moving from one generation of hardware to the next. You will see significant increase in performance, although your PowerMac G5 is no slouch, either. And, of course, you give up the possibility to upgrade much of your system, and 2 or 3 GB of RAM with your iMac is OK, but your old G5 could go up to 8GB, I guess.
