My iMac PPC 10.4.11 hard drive crashed and was replaced. I would like to use migration assistant to transfer information & settings from my MacBook Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.2 GHz OSX 10.5.2. Is this possible?

Thanx....Abrish

Have you tried it? You're not likely to lose any data in the process because it's only being copied from one Mac to the other.

I tried using firewire, but the imac would not recognize the macbook. I was wondering if this was due to the the imac having tiger & macbook having leopard.

Not sure why. Are you entering Target Disk Mode properly, by holding T at startup. Migration Assistant requires this setup but is independent of one Mac recognizing the other via TDM. Please elaborate on your process.
