Whenever I try to print a web-site or a E-mail the printer is disconected. If I insist I loose the whole net-connection and have to reinstall it . Otherwise my mac and printer works nicely together.
Is there anything I can do????

Hi,
I'm Greg, your Volunteer Tech. I sincerely enjoy helping people set up their Mac so they can enjoy using it. I try, through a series of short interactions with you, to get enough information to help you. Please don't expect me to solve the problem without giving me more info or not telling me when I haven't yet fixed the problem.

Please describe how you are connected to the internet and to the printer, what your computer model and OS version are.

Thanks.

I am connected by an ADSL modem
My computer is a Mac mini bought new i July and installed a week later.
Computer and printer are connected by the cable which came with the Mac, an USB cable (I think).
Hoping for the best...

Are you connected to the ADSL modem by USB, too? If possible, you should use ethernet for the network connection (to the ADSL). Do you have any other computers connected, or a router, etc?

There is only one computer.
Sad to say I have very Little knowledge about what the different cables are called. The one between the ADSL-modem and the "Mac mini" is probably an Ethernet, at least it has different symbol than the USB.
I used those cables which vhere supplied with the "machinery"
But. the computer and the printer worked well together the first day. My problems started on day two - and without any alterations from my side.

OK, I was fishing for more info because I don't "think" that printing should have any correlation to your DSL/internet connection.

Let's just try some basic maintenance steps. Use Disk Utility to repair permissions.
Then, Delete the printer from Printer Setup Utility, restart the Mac, and re-ADD the printer in Printer Setup. Now try it out.
