Hi,
I'm new to the Mac environment and have a problem with Office: Mac 2001 installed on Mac OS9.2. The problem is that the drop down submenu in the Menu toolbar is not functioning. Whenever I point the mouse to the 'File' menu (for example), selections like 'Save As' did not appear. In other words the drop-down sub-menu are missing.

I later went to the Mactopia website to download the Remove Office Mac 2001 tools and ran the process, and reinstalled Office Mac 2001 after restarting the computer, but it still does not work.

In fact the problem grew even worse, where this time, the Standard icon toolbar too, went missing.

Although I followed the instructions of the support site and renamed the Normal template to oldnormal, this does not work too

I read on the Yale University FAS IT Support website that there is a Office Mac 2001 Service Release 1 download that may fix the problem, but the link does not work. I have tried searching for the Service Release 1 elsewhere but could not find it too.

I need help on this and would appreciate if someone will help me out with this. Thanks.

Go into your System Folder/Preferences folder
Find a file named Word Settings - it may have a number after the file name. Drag that file to the trash. You can also remove other files beginning with the name Word (Word Font Substitutes, or other similar names)
When you open Word after doing that, those files will be re-created, and Word will return to defaults. You should then see your menus again!
Let me know how it goes...
