My ISP has recently updated their modems to the new V.90 standard. They now suggest that any 56K modem users do the upgrade also.
What files can I back up in case something would go wrong with the download?

Back up the curent inf file. What some people do is they download the V90 upgrade and the file they currently have, so if the V90 goes wrong they just install the right file over it !
