Dear John,
You have a couple of different options.
First of all, you can get an internal Global Village Modem directly from Golobal Village, or from Apple. I do not think there are any other modems that fit inside your computer. On the other hand, if you don't mind the unsightly look (since it IS, after all, in the rear of the computer) you can just remove your old Global Village Modem card, remove the Modem Port plug (white tape on the modem port) and attach any other modem you'd like.
Make sure you delete the old Global Village files from your system folder, to avoid any conflicts. Or better yet, buy a faster Global Village modem, and allow the software to update itself.
GOod luck,
Carlos.
P.S. You may also want to consider upgrading to O.S. 7.5.3 ,since it is now a free download from Apple's web site.
