I accidentally deleted my modem.
I reinstalled it by letting windows
detect it.
Now I hear a dial tone but I get a message
saying no dial tone, and the modem does not
dial.

Hi Wayne, Thanks for using No Wonder!,
Try going to the manufacturer's web page and get the latest version of the driver. That "Should" fix it.
