Description:
I have an Apple 15-inch Multiscan monitor. Three years ago it was replaced under warranty by Apple with a factory refurbished replacement. Now it constantly changes hues from green to blue to pink. Why is this? Was this model a lemon? Can you suggest a reasonably-priced monitor?

Hi Mike and welcome to No Wonder

This monitor quite often develops the fault you describe.

1. Call 1-800-SOS-APPL and ask to be transferred to a technician.
2. Tell the technician what is wrong. Tell them that you are aware of this
defect and that you are quite certain that it is the monitor and not
your computer. Ask for a Warranty Repair Exception case number.
3. Then ask to be transferred back to customer service. Be polite, but
very firm. DO NOT ACCEPT "NO" FOR AN ANSWER. If they try to say "it's out
of warranty" tell them that you are aware that there are thousands of
these stinkers around and insist on a free replacement.
4. Apple will send you an empty box in which you put your faulty monitor into.
5. Send the monitor to Apple and they will fix it and return to you within 10 days.

Take heart: even though Apple denies that there is an "official"
program, this procedure works.

Cheers
Andy Mitchell
