Knowledge Level: Intermediate
Problem: Combination
Computer Type: Apple
Model: 1710-AV Monitor
RAM: 48meg
RAM Enhancer: None
OS Version: MacOS 8

Description:
The Color Sync System Profile control panel offers 3 profiles for 17-inch monitors: Apple Multiple Scan 17-9300, 17-D50, and 17-D65.

What is an optimum choice for plain everyday use (no heavy photo editing, etc.)? I have read the Apple help stuff. It would seem that the 9300 is the best over-all setting. I'm not sure about the other two.

Dear Pete:

This is kind of a lame answer but it is the truth. If you are not concerned with color fidelity to an original source, than you should pick whatever setting you like best. You may want to "test drive" different settings to see which your eyes like best. This may change given different ambient lighting, time of day etc. but there is no "ideal" choice.

I hope this information solves your problem.
