Computer Type: Power Computing
Model: Power Center Pro 210
RAM: 65+

OS Version: System 7.6.1

Description:
My mouse froze. The books say to restart via the keyboard: control-option-restart.
This did not help. I pressed the power button on the front of the computer to shut it off, but I'm too scared to turn it back on to see if my mouse works.
Please I need my computer to run my business. Is there any simple, magical remedy?
Thank you so much. I'm quite new at this and a bit scared something is wrong.

Elizabeth,
Don't be afraid. It's perfectly fine to turn off the computer by using the power switch. Why would they put a button on there that you shouldn't use?
What you experienced was a simple lock-up, it happens to the best computers in the world. Sometimes you might be using more than one application and the computer just gets confused about what it's supposed to do and it freezes. It's not a problem and it's nothing that YOU have done that caused the freeze. It's normal, believe me.
When it happens again, and it will. Try the keyboard shortcut: command-control-power. This should do the trick.
If you have any more problems let me know, I'm always happy to help.
