MODEL: 6500
RAM: 65+
OS VERSION: NT 4
SERVICE PACK: SP3

DESCRIPTION:

Hi there

Just a quick question. Do you know of any way of extracting the information that is displayed in Mailbox Resources in Exchange 5.5.

What i would like to do is to extract this information and place it in a Spread sheet or crystal reports.

I do not mind whether it is a way of doing a cut and paste of some description or a app.

Regards

Laurie

Hello, Laurie, and thanks for trying nowonder.com!

I'm going to give you two separate answers, and one may fit, depending on what the end result you're trying for is.

(1) If you're trying to put *your own* Exchange info into a spreadsheet, or perhaps you're creating a spreadsheet to send to people such that when it opens it has their Exchange info inside, this is going to be a little complicated. All of the Exchange info is in the Windows Registry ... if you do start-run and type "regedit.exe" and run that, then press F3, you can search for something you know is in your Exchange info and you'll find the registry keys to read. You can read them using VBA and insert them into your spreadsheet. You may need to recruit someone who has a knowledge of the Windows API to help you with that.

(2) If what you want to do is to pull up info about EVERYONE at your company who uses Exchange, you're in luck, with Exchange 5.5 there's a nice Crystal Reports ODBC datasource you can read just like a regular table. Open Crystal ( I use Crystal 6, I'm not sure about the minimal version number of Crystal you will require) and start a new report, using the Microsoft Exchange source (you may not have installed that when you installed Crystal if you did a minimal or custom install).

let me know if this helps.

If neither of these helps, please let me know by replying with additional information about your problem.

Thanks for using nowonder.com!
